This is the narrow panoramic road that threads between the Meteora sandstone pillars from Kalambaka up past the clifftop monasteries and down to Kastraki, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. It is short but steep and winding, with several monastery viewpoints and a much-photographed lookout between Rousanou and Holy Trinity. The road gets very busy with tour coaches and pedestrians in season. Mind the tour buses on blind bends, the crowds of parked cars at viewpoints, and the steep drop-offs by the pinnacles.
