Morača Canyon Road
M-2E65Kolašin to Podgorica
Montenegro’s great north road plunges through a perpendicular river gorge to the capital.
The M-2 follows the Morača River through a spectacular limestone gorge, known locally as Platije, that forms the main connection between Podgorica and the northern mountains. The road threads a series of rock-cut tunnels and cliff-edge bends, with striking contrasts between dark vertical walls and the bright green river below. The 13th-century Morača Monastery sits in the gorge floor and makes a natural stopping point mid-route.
