Pavličevo Sedlo Road
428Logarska Dolina to Pavličevo Sedlo · Savinjska
A narrow alpine pass from the Logar valley to the Austrian border.
At the head of the Solčavsko region, regional road 428 climbs out of the Savinja valley and over the Pavličevo sedlo at about 1,339m, a quiet pass on the Slovenian-Austrian frontier beneath the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The approach passes the mouth of the famous Logar valley with its 2,000m walls, then the asphalt narrows into a hairpinned climb through forest to the open saddle and the border. It is well surfaced but tight and largely single-track in places, with very little traffic, which is part of the draw. The descent on the far side drops into Carinthia. Mind sections only wide enough for one vehicle, late-lying snow that closes the pass into spring, and damp, shaded corners under the trees.
