Postbridge to Two Bridges
B3212Postbridge to Two Bridges · Devon
The trans-moorland B3212 across the wild heart of Dartmoor, linking the famous clapper bridge at Postbridge with the beauty spot at Two Bridges.
This is the spine road across high Dartmoor, the B3212 running south-west from the ancient granite clapper bridge at Postbridge down to the wooded river crossing at Two Bridges below Princetown. It is open, rolling moorland driving rather than a hairpin pass, with long sightlines over tors, the odd dip and crest, and Dartmoor ponies and sheep that wander freely onto the tarmac. The surface is decent but the road is unfenced for most of its length, so livestock can appear without warning. It tends to be quietest early or late in the day, and mist can roll in fast off the high moor. Mind wandering ponies and sheep, sudden moorland fog, and blind crests on the open sections.
