The Monte Carlo Rally’s fabled night stage above the Côte d’Azur.

Immortalised by the Monte Carlo Rally, the Turini twists up through forest above the Riviera in a tight, technical sequence of hairpins and switchbacks. It is narrow and demanding, with the tarmac changing grip in the trees, a driver’s road through and through, best enjoyed unhurried.

A ladder of hairpins out of the Maritime Alps, pine forest giving way to bare rock. Come back at night: it’s the one rally crews have fought over for decades, and you’ll see why.
