Historic 14-hairpin pass linking Lakes Kochelsee and Walchensee
The Kesselbergstraße, a stretch of the B11, twists over the 858 m Kesselberg pass between Kochel am See and Urfeld on the Walchensee, threading fourteen hairpin bends between the Herzogstand and Jochberg peaks. Dating in its modern form to the 1890s, it is a long-standing favourite for its sharp curves and lake views in the Bavarian foothills. A 60 km/h limit and no-overtaking rule cover the pass, motorcycles face directional bans toward Walchensee on weekends and holidays, and the bends draw heavy leisure traffic.
