Scenic Lagorai pass of hairpins from Castello Tesino toward the Vanoi valley.
The SP79 over the 1616 m Passo Brocon, built between 1905 and 1908, climbs from Castello Tesino across the Tesino plateau and Lagorai range toward the Vanoi valley. It strings together a long, pretty series of hairpins, including a celebrated set near the Salton waterfall, with wide Dolomite views from the summit. The road is narrow in parts and reaches steep ramps. Mind the tight unguarded hairpins, the narrow pinch points where oncoming traffic is awkward, and snow or ice outside the warmer months.
