Gorge road bored into the Brasa canyon above Lake Garda
The SP38 'Strada della Forra' climbs about 5.8 km from Lake Garda up to Pieve di Tremosine, carved through the Brasa gorge in a sequence of tunnels and ledges opened in 1913. A car chase in the 2008 James Bond film Quantum of Solace was filmed here. The road is single-track in places and, depending on season, is signed one-way uphill with restricted hours, so check access and watch for oncoming cyclists in the dark tunnels.
