Flexenpass
L198Stuben am Arlberg to Lech · Vorarlberg
A dramatic Vorarlberg pass road clinging to a cliff face through avalanche galleries, linking Stuben with the chic resort of Lech.
The Flexenstrasse, OSM-tagged L198, leaves Stuben am Arlberg with a flight of hairpins before threading the famous Flexengalerie, a series of stone-arched snow galleries cut into a near-vertical rock wall above the gorge. It climbs to the 1,773m saddle near Zurs and continues to the upscale ski village of Lech. The galleries and the exposed cliffside alignment are the signature, much photographed and featured on the Roads by Porsche network. The single-lane gallery and tunnel sections are light-controlled. Mind the waits and oncoming traffic at the light-controlled single-lane galleries, the sheer drop on the gorge side, and snow and ice that can affect the road well outside high summer.
